A Wise Giraffe, Hot Wheels and The Bravery.
Over all it was a strange weekend. Maybe it was the onset of deep south humidity that skewed the balance in favor of strangelandia. As I write this, I'm watching boris try to balance on his head in an effort to scratch his forehead. Maybe he's feeling the heat too. As luck would have it, I actually carried my camera with me all weekend, so here are some of my favorite snaps of the weekend.
On Saturday, I got to see The Bravery at the 99X Downtown Rocks concert series. I was really impressed. After seeing what was possibly the worst live show ever put on the by The Killers at Music Midtown, I was relieved to see that at least one of these fueding bands lived up to the hype.

Today was actually a good day. I spent the afternoon at a pool party that Sarah put on for our friend Chris's b-day. And you know what? The sun came out long enough for everyone to actually feel like they were at a pool party. Finally! Hat's off to Chris for bringing the his A-game at the grill and serving up roasted corn with melted mayonnaise, cheese and chili powder. Corn cobb goodness!

After the pool party, Karen, Mr. Macadoo and myself cruised down Memorial to Stone Mountain for the first ever Atlanta Rollergirls rollerderby bout. After a few hours of watching girls collide while rolling out in tight circles, I think I actually understand the rules. Atlanta rollerderby is gonna be huge. Mark my wheels, er.. words.

The final stamp of oddity on the weekend was a confrontation with a wise giraffe at sunset. I was walking along, minding my own business and "Wham!"... I'm stopped in my tracks by the sunset and a giraffe head. Yep, this weekend is officially over.

Matt,
Are you serious about the Giraffe? A giraffe just randomly popped out of no where? If that's the case, that's hilarious!
Love ya
