How to compress and shrink pics with Microsoft Paint.
Ok, people. The downside to buying a digital camera that takes pics in really high resolution is that each picture is a pretty huge file. A pet peeve of mine is how many of you don't learn how to compress (or "shrink" in lay terms) the size of the picture before trying to sending your pics in email as these huge files! So here's a little primer for you.
1 - Open Windows Explorer on your PC and navigate to the folder where your pics are stored.
2 - Right click on your picture and select Open With -> Paint.

3 - Now that your picture is open in Paint, select Image -> Stretch / Skew (or simple press Ctrl-W).
4 - Enter 25% for Horizontal and 25% for Vertical and the press OK. If you can see the entirety of the picture on your monitor, then you've shrunk it to a reasonable size. If you're satisfied with the size, move on to step 5, if not then repeat step 4 until your satisfied with the size. Remember, if you aren't satisfied with your stretch, you can always select Edit -> Undo (or press Ctrl Z)to undo your last stretch.

5 - Press File -> Save As and name your picture. Make sure you're file type is set to JPG.

Your good to go!
