Geneaology goes Web 2.0 with Geni.com. Cool.
I was tipped off over at TechCruch about a new site called Geni.com. He wrote:
The initial product is a very easy to use Flash tool to create a profile and a family tree - including siblings, spouses, cousins, aunts and uncles, and their families. When you add a relative, there is an option to add their email address and have the tree sent to them as well. They can add their own data, extending the tree, and Geni will launch tools to merge overlapping trees.
I love the idea of viral genealogy. Basically, if enough families create their tree (or contribute to one) eventually, the trees will begin to overlap and connect, creating a visual map of the ancestral universe. Do your tree!

Hi Matt,
all the history buffs i work with say a collective"thank you".Geni.com... excuse the slang, it just looks way too cool.
now, the real reason for this note. since i am having such a difficult time finding inra-red film here, i am going to start looking at digital cameras.
Nikkon has a new one coming out that is more or less motion proof.(great for old ladies with even older shoulders).
the ideal camera would have either a 28mm or 18mm lens.
do you have any suggestions? whenever i go into "professional" photographic supply stores, i just get spoken down to, since i still use a 35mm slr. and i still use film.
egads!!!!!!!!!!what is this world coming to.
so, now that i have cried on your shoulder, please remember my age and just smile. so, could you please ask around for me.
i am not in that"i want this now" frame of mind. it would just be nice to have a camera that will do what the owner wants.
the new nikkon is about $250.
thank so much,
much love,
wynter
